【摘要】:TheengineeringfunctionofmanyPMpartsmayrequireanexteriorportionoftheparttohaveaspecifiedcasedepthandmicroindentationhardness.Measurementofeffectivecasedepthisusedtodeterminethedepthtowhichthemicroindentationhardnessoftheexteriorportionofaparthasbeenincreasedoverthatoftheinteriorofthepart.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminationoftheeffectivecasedepthofpowdermetallurgy(PM)parts.1.2Amicroindentationhardnesstraverseprocedureisdescribedtodetermineeffectivecasedepth.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtodeterminetheeffectivecasedepthforalltypesofhardenedcases.1.3Theprocedurefordeterminingthemicroindentationhardnessofpowdermetallurgymaterials,asdescribedinTestMethodB933shallbefollowed.1.4Withtheexceptionoftheunitfordensity,forwhichthegramspercubiccentimeterunitisthelong-standingindustrypractice,thevaluesinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
